Spa FAQs
Planning a visit to Formby Hall Spa? Find answers to some of our most frequently asked questions, from what to bring and treatment timings to spa etiquette, health considerations, and opening hours.
Before Your Visit
What should I bring with me to the Spa?
Please bring a swimming costume with you. You may also wish to bring a second one if you would prefer to change into something dry during your visit. We will provide you with a towel and robe.
If you are staying at the Resort and would like to use the spa facilities before hotel check-in at 3pm, we recommend bringing a separate spa bag alongside your overnight luggage. We can safely store your luggage for you.
We also have a fully equipped gym, so don't forget your gym kit and trainers if you would like to make use of it during your stay.
How early should I arrive for my spa treatment?
We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before your first spa treatment. This gives you plenty of time to check in, change, and familiarise yourself with the Spa before your appointment begins.
To help us keep appointments running on time, we ask all guests to arrive promptly. If you arrive late, your treatment time may need to be reduced.
Do I need to complete a consultation before my treatment?
Yes. All treatment times include a five-minute consultation. This allows our therapists to understand your requirements and tailor the treatment to your needs.
Should I book additional treatments before arriving?
Yes. We strongly recommend booking any additional treatments before your arrival to avoid disappointment, as availability may be limited on the day.
Do you have double treatment rooms?
Yes. Our double treatment rooms are ideal for couples or friends who would like to enjoy their treatment time together. Double treatment rooms are subject to availability, so we recommend requesting one when you make your booking.
Age & Health
What is the minimum age to use the Spa?
The minimum age for spa treatments and access to our spa, poolside, and thermal facilities is 16.
Children's swimming times in the pool are from 9am to 10am and from 4pm to 5pm.
Can I visit the Spa if I am pregnant?
If you are pregnant, or think you may be pregnant, please let us know before your visit. This allows our team to advise you on the treatments and facilities that are most appropriate for you.
Can I visit the Spa if I am undergoing or recovering from cancer treatment?
If you are undergoing or recovering from cancer treatment, please let us know in advance of your visit. Our team can then advise you on the most suitable treatments and facilities for your individual circumstances.
Do I need to tell you about medical conditions, allergies or injuries?
Yes. It is important that you tell us about any health conditions, allergies, medications, or injuries that could affect your choice of spa treatment or exercise.
When you arrive, you will be asked to complete a health and lifestyle questionnaire so that our team can recommend the most suitable treatments and facilities for you.
Spa Etiquette
Can I use my mobile phone in the Spa?
The Spa is designed to be a calm, quiet, and relaxing environment, so we ask that mobile phones are not used.
We also ask guests to speak quietly in the Thermal Suite, treatment corridor, and relaxation lounge. Please treat these areas as whisper zones so that everyone can enjoy their time at the Spa.
What behaviour is expected in the Spa?
We ask all guests to respect the calm and relaxing environment of the Spa. Rowdy or excessively loud behaviour may result in guests being asked to leave the Spa.
The treatment area is available only to guests aged 16 and over.
Can I bring alcohol into the Spa?
No. Guests are not permitted to bring their own alcohol into Formby Hall Spa under any circumstances.
Are lockers available for personal belongings?
Yes. Lockers are provided for your individual use during your visit. However, we recommend that you do not bring valuable items into the Spa.
Formby Hall cannot accept responsibility for the loss of or damage to personal belongings.
Bookings & Cancellations
What is the Spa cancellation policy?
Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment.
We require at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice, or failure to attend your appointment, will result in the booking being cancelled and payment being retained.
Can you accommodate dietary requirements?
Yes. Please let us know about any dietary requirements before your arrival and our team will do everything possible to accommodate your request.
Opening Hours & Arrival
What are the Spa opening hours?
