The Job Description

What you'll do

The primary objectives will be:

Effectively carry out the role as a Fitness Instructor and to ensure health and safety procedures are complied with at all times. To ensure that the presentation and cleanliness of the facilities are kept to the highest standards and ensuring that high levels of customer service are adopted at all times.


Complete all inductions, fitness assessments and programme prescriptions in a professional manner.

Supervise and motivate all members and guests using the health club facilities, as well as to maintain the safety and wellbeing of customers using the facilities.

Provide information and training tips to members and guests on how to use gym equipment safely and effectively.

Ensure that all members and guests adhere to the health club rules and safety advise.

Maintain a high level of knowledge, keeping up to date with fitness trends within the leisure industry.

Learn and observe the health clubs Normal Operating Procedure (NOP), Emergency Evacuation Plan (EAP) and Health & Safety policy.

Supervise and deliver group sessions as directed by the Golf & Leisure Manager.

Ensuring weekly and monthly health & safety maintenance checks are complete and records kept up to date in accordance with the HSE and manufacturers recommendations.

Manage the pool water quality and report problems to the Golf and Leisure Manager.

Attend interactive instructor update sessions on a regular basis.

Maintain the highest standards of service, presentation and professional advice offered to customers using the fitness facilities.
