PGA National Residential Golf Academy
The UK’s first PGA National Residential Academy opened in 2008 at Formby Hall Golf Resort. The PGA Academy is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology including radar ball-tracking and video swing-analysis, aimed at developing both beginners through to established club players.
Formby Hall caters for players of all ages and abilities from absolute beginners to experienced competitors. Guests can choose from a range of packages that suit their time and budget from half-day coaching sessions to residential golf packages.

You don’t have to be a member to enjoy a round of golf at Formby Hall, we welcome visitors to both the 18-hole course known as The Old Course and our new unique PGA 9 Hole Links Course.
The Old Course
This 18-hole Championship course, close to Southport and Liverpool is set in 135 acres of beautiful tree-lined parkland. Formby Golf Course offers the perfect setting and test for all golfing enthusiasts. Ranked among the best championship golf courses in the UK, it's an established venue for the European Challenge Tour and the European Professional Seniors Tour.
Par 3 Course
This unique 9-hole inland links course captures the true challenges of links golf with its numerous strategically placed riveted pot bunkers, and large undulating greens. Added to this the presence of 3 large lakes provides the sternest of tests for golfers of all levels.
Golf Shop
Newly opened for 2009. Formby Hall golf shop stocks the latest clubs, accessories, clothing to suit every golfers needs including performance and golf technology equipment from Callaway Golf, Ping, TaylorMade and Titleist.
Driving Range
One of the leading practice facilities serving Liverpool, Southport and the North West, the driving range has 21 Power Tee individual carpeted bays, 3 teaching bays and two private swing-analysis rooms. No membership required and we are open to the public seven days a week.
Junior PGA Academy
Formby Hall Golf Resort is an affiliated Junior Golf Foundation starter centre, set in a safe and fun environment where young golfers can learn the “game of a lifetime”.
Corporate Golf Days
Formby Hall has years of experience of delivering first-class corporate golf programmes. Our Birdie Package is based on a minimum of 24-60 golfers, The Eagle package based on a minimum of 72-144 golfers.
